Thailand
It is a marvelous kingdom, featuring Buddhist temples, exotic wildlife, and spectacular islands. Along with a fascinating history and a unique culture that includes delectable Thai food and massage, Thailand features a modern capital city, and friendly people who epitomize Thailand’s “land of smiles” reputation.

Located in the center of Southeast Asia, Thailand is truly at the heart of the region.  Looking over a map of Thailand will reveal a country whose borders form the rough shape of an elephant’s head: the head and ears forming the mostly landlocked northern and eastern provinces and the trunk extending down the Malaysian peninsula between the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.

While the official Thai language is widely spoken throughout Thailand, many Thais also speak and understand English, though more so in Bangkok and the major tourist areas.

The Thailand climate is controlled by tropical monsoons and the weather in Thailand is generally hot and humid across most of the country throughout most of the year. In Thailand Cool Season (November - February), Hot Season (March - June) , Rainy Season (July - October) .

Religion in Thailand pervades many aspects of Thai life and senior monks are highly revered; it is not uncommon to see their images adorning walls of businesses or homes or upon ornaments inside of taxi cabs.

Active travelers can trek, ride elephants and go rafting. For an intense multi-country cross-cultural exploration, choose an Indochina exploration, which includes Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Indochina trips combine well with Secrets of Siam in northern Thailand. Whether you’re exploring Thailand in depth, or just passing through, add on a Bangkok Hospitality tour or a stay at a beautiful Thai beach. Short direct fights connect Bangkok with Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Nepal and Yunnan, China.

There is much for you to discover in Thailand. The country offers a huge range of new experiences in sights, sounds, tastes, and outlook. The people are friendly, leisure activities are well organized, the food is great and you receive excellent value for money. Thailand is an easy, exotic and logical inclusion on around the world itineraries.
